QUICK update: Specialized has confirmed that the star ratchet upgrade is compatible. The guys are dt 240’s in the hub anyways!
About three weeks ago I got my hands on some new Specialized Roval Rapide CLX 40’s from specialized to demo. For those of you who aren’t to familiar with Roval they are Specializes in-house wheel brand. And if you know me, I’m a specialized fan boy so I couldn’t wait to get a chance to ride their new design and attempt at the Aero wheel market. I also hope’d they would perform better then the old roval wheels. To get a quick grasps on how I tested them, I rode them on interval training rides, windy days, long rides, and climbing. I tried to cover the full spectrum! I also did a small comparison in the crosswinds to the Zipp 404 FC Tubulars. The results were impressive.
